I'm Simon, but my friends call me Si.

As you can see, I am a writer and imaginative genius (enter a cough, a splutter, and an embarrassing silence here)
But seriously, I love writing, it's all I ever wanted to do, but a life-time's drudgery of business management wore me down, and I never got around to it...until the day I rose an angry fist and shouted 'no more' mister director', well, that's what it felt like at the time. I then put pen to paper and took the plunge.
I write in several genre's including dark urban fantasy, semi-autobiographical adventures, YA adventure and macabre action thrillers.

I reside on the sunny shores of the Indian Ocean in a small town called Port Alfred. I'm married to my editor Jacqui, (unlucky suckers, she's all mine mwhahaha!). We have two dogs and a great view from our porch where I spend my time tapping away on my trusty old laptop, telling stories.

The final claxon sounded as Alex Black threw the severed head of the last retired apprentice out of the hotel window in a rage. Lucinda Millhaven sat on the ground, blood surged freely from the large gash that flowed like a river from her left eye to the corner of her mouth. Her once perfect face was now deformed and pain erupted in her head. Her blood-soaked hands were frantically trying to pull the assassin's blade from her groin as her life force pumped out of her body onto the floor. She fought hard to stay awake and cried out for Alex Black but her words seemed to get stuck in her throat and she passed out.
Lucinda awoke in the hospital wing of the Killing Grounds and desperately searched for her love but she was alone, and as the realisation that he was gone settled within her a black cloud swallowed her soul. She let herself sink into a deep depression and refused to heal herself.
But fate always has other plans, there are evils stalking the streets of the city and highly skilled Artists waiting for their opportunity to destroy Millhaven House and everyone that lives inside its walls. It's time for her to make a decision; roll over and die or come out fighting! And three words haunt her every dream, words that she heard every day when she was a child, words that would bring her more pain than she had ever had to endure...Family comes first!

Book Three: A Study in Black.
Alex Black lifted his bruised face as he heard his brother groan when Lord Sirap’s blade penetrated Gideon’s defences and implanted itself in Gideon’s stomach. Their eyes met and Gideon smiled and slowly nodded as his blood spilled onto the black and white marble dance floor inside of the great fort. Every fibre in Alex’s being wanted to reach out and retire Gideon himself but as the light faded from his brother’s eyes a small piece of Alex died with it. Alex closed his eyes and heard the screaming as Lord and Lady Black were dispatched by his friend Alara Du Preeze, and then he felt the cold embrace of Sable as she whisked him away from the great fort and into her world. “I’m your mother, Alex.”
Alex awoke in a new world he barely understood, one filled with political intrigue, underground fight clubs and nothing but pain and hurt. He threw the sheets off of the bed and ran to open the window to let the freezing night’s air cool his body, but the adrenaline was coursing through his veins and he screamed a single word at the full moon that hung over the city skyline… “Lucinda!”
Sable looked up as she heard the scream echo around her mansion and locked eyes with the only other female that she trusted, “Are you ready?”
“Indeed!”
“Very well, if he fails he dies.”
“He’ll probably die anyway.”
Book Four: Dragon-Blade: The Beast Behind The Door.
House Black now lies in ruins, while Millhaven House mourns the loss of a beloved child. The third and most deadly of the families, led by the woman known only as Sable, hides in the dark and lick its wounds after battling against the mad mage, Caleb Williams, and the Anarchists.
Only the Assassins Guild stands tall, watching over the city from the safety of its grey stone walls and high ramparts. But the Assassins too hide a secret; Alara Du Preeze, who stalks the city streets retiring the remaining members of the secret sect called the Affiliation.

The James Fisher series
James Fisher and the Bird Witch
